PositionRegistered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (36‑hour shift, days/night, every other weekend/holiday)
About the Unit6 East is a 36‑bed Medical‑Surgical Unit serving a wide range of general medical diagnoses and conditions. The unit is committed to culture competence, professional integrity, and optimal patient care.
Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education.
- Communicate with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data.
- Follow BMC nursing organization guidelines and policies.
- Assist the leadership team in quality improvement projects.
- Licensed RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- 1+ year RN experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required in certain units. - Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years.
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.
- Competitive pay (base rate $38.05–$75.33).
