American Traveler is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Nurse II for an Oncology position in Boston, MA, requiring a MA RN license and 3-5 years of clinical research experience with interventional full-cycle clinical trial background.
Requirements- Active MA RN license required
- BSN from an accredited nursing program required
- Current BLS certification required
- 3-5 years of clinical research or research experience required
- Interventional, full-cycle clinical trial experience strongly preferred, ideally in oncology, hematology, amyloidosis, or sickle cell
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; experience with REDCap or similar research databases preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage data, timelines, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Knowledge of research regulations including Protection of Human Subjects and IRB processes
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills; bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus
- A valid, non-expired driver's license is required for consideration
- Hospital-based oncology/hematology clinical research setting focused on cancer, amyloidosis, hematology, and sickle cell trials
- Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts with flexibility to start at 7am based on patient scheduling needs
- No weekends and no major holidays required
- Hybrid schedule dependent on patient visit scheduling
- Expected caseload of 4-6 active study patients per day, 4 days per week (16-24 patients per week)
- Position reports to the Medical Director of the Cancer Clinical Trials Program and the Administrative Director in Hematology and Medical Oncology

- Responsible for identifying potentially eligible patients for open clinical trials, reviewing consent forms, and guiding patients through trial requirements
- Coordinates study enrollment, protocol treatment, scheduling of lab and radiographic assessments, and clinic visits for active trial participants
- Partners with clinical research coordinators and regulatory coordinators to ensure study compliance and facilitate trial activation
- Provides protocol education to patients and families, adapting communication based on cultural, age-specific, and individual patient needs
- Documents clinical observations and communicates findings to protocol investigators and attending physicians
- Candidates should be prepared to provide a list of clinical trials participated in, whether they were interventional, and the extent of their participation
- RNs must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or
B) as part of the consideration process - 2 professional references are required, at least one of which must be from a manager-level or above and include a performance evaluation completed within the last 12 months
- The position is within a 50-mile radius requirement; local candidates are accepted
- Manager strongly prefers local candidates or those willing to permanently relocate to the Boston area
- Temp-to-perm opportunity available for interested candidates
