Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg – Neuro/Stroke/Infectious Diseases unit.
Position SummaryAs an RN in our Medical Surgical/7 West division, you will deliver care to patients on the Neurology and Stroke teams, supporting the Special Pathogens Unit (SPU). Your role is central to providing evidence‑based, patient‑centered care within a collaborative nursing environment.
Job Responsibilities- Provide nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education.
- Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records and interpret computerized data.
- Follow BMC nursing policies and guidelines.
- Assist leadership in quality‑improvement projects as needed.
- Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- 1+ year RN experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain units.
- Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred).
- Ability to obtain a BSN within four years.
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification as required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.
- Competitive pay (NursingMS – Medical Surgical compensation range: $38.05–$75.33).
