, the Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) leads educational initiatives, supports clinical staff development, and promotes regulatory compliance through ongoing training and competency programs.

Responsibilities for Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)
  • Ensure the center maintains appropriate staffing levels and nursing care to support quality resident outcomes.
  • Develop, coordinate, and provide education and training programs for new and existing employees.
  • Conduct employee orientation and ongoing in-service education to ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized education records, competency validations, and required documentation.
  • Assist with admissions as needed and support the nursing department’s overall workflow and resident care units.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and promote continuous staff development.
  • Monitor compliance with mandatory training requirements and clinical competencies.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives through education, coaching, and staff development.
Qualifications for Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)
  • Must possess a current, active, and unencumbered RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Prior experience as a Staff Development Coordinator, Infection Preventionist, or similar educational leadership role within a nursing center or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships and gain support from staff at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of long-term care regulations, nursing education, and staff competency requirements.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
