Our 14‑bed, family‑centered pediatric emergency department is one of the largest dedicated units in Boston. The team is PALS and TNCC certified, providing comprehensive and complex care to children of all ages while serving a diverse community.
Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education of patients.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data.
- Follow BMC nursing organization guidelines and policies.
- Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects.
- Valid registered nursing license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Emergency Room RN experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification; additional certifications required for certain units.
- Nursing degree:
Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred). Ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years. - Relevant clinical experience and specialty certifications where applicable.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
