Position Summary
As an RN in the Medical Surgical Float Pool at Boston Medical Center (BMC), you will deliver exceptional patient care across adult and pediatric medical and surgical units, including IMCU and Observation units. You will provide 24/7 clinical excellence, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and support quality improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical units, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education.
- Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data.
- Follow BMC nursing guidelines and policies.
- Assist the leadership team on quality improvement projects as needed.
- Licensed as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience (preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain units.
- Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred); ability to obtain BSN within four years.
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certifications required for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.
- Competitive pay with a compensation range of $38.05 to $75.33 per hour.
