Nurse Manager, Adult Emergency Department

Position Summary

The Nurse Manager is a registered nurse who functions as a patient care provider, supervisor, and clinical resource for staff. She/he implements management and clinical activities, coordinates clinical activities to ensure that the nursing process is operationalized utilizing Standards of Care/Standards of Practice, and ensures the provision of patient care consistent with department, hospital, and regulatory standards.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program (BSN) required.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  Current Massachusetts RN license required. Certification in related specialty areas may also be required.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of three to five years clinical experience in an Emergency Department required. Charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge and
  
  Skills:
  
  Analytical abilities necessary to organize, supervise and evaluate the work of others; effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills; multilingual verbal and written skills beyond English; proficiency with standard software programs used in healthcare (MS Word, Outlook, web browsers, patient registration systems, and electronic medical record).
