Position Summary

As a registered nurse in the Adult Emergency Department, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to ED patients during day, evening, and night shifts. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate, and educate patients and families.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care in the Adult Emergency Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
  • Communicate effectively with health-care team members, patients, and families.
  • Coordinate and delegate patient-care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
  • Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data.
  • Follow BMC nursing policies and guidelines.
  • Assist leadership with quality improvement projects as needed.
Job Requirements
  • Registered nurse license in Massachusetts (or ability to obtain one).
  • Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience.
  • Current certification in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
  • Certification in TNCC (or attain prior to start date).
  • Nursing degree:
    Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years if not currently holding one.
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification for certain practice areas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language is a plus.
