Experienced Dialysis Hospital Services Nurse (Acute RN) – Provides specialized dialysis and renal nursing care, and where required, plasmapheresis treatments in our Tufts Medical Center acute hemodialysis unit. The Acute RN collaborates with hospital and outpatient teams to ensure safe care and optimal outcomes.

Full‑time. Two 8‑hour shifts and two 12‑hour shifts; schedule set upon hiring. Some positions may require 24/7 call or rotating call at certain locations. Primarily hospital work with occasional rotation to the outpatient clinic.

Pay range: $41.48–$71.05 per hour, based on nursing and dialysis experience.

• Prepare and monitor equipment for intermittent or continuous dialysis and water treatment, including quality control checks
• Perform and document pre‑, intra‑, and post‑dialysis assessments
• Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatments per established policies and procedures
• Dispense medications as ordered and document per policy in the hospital medical record
• Administer blood and blood products per hospital policy and procedure
• Receive, transcribe, and implement written and verbal orders from physicians accurately
• Access lab reports, interpret, and report necessary information to the nephrologist
• Provide renal education to patients and families and document appropriately
• Serve as primary dialysis contact for nephrologists and hospital staff and liaison to the outpatient dialysis center
• Adhere to DCI and hospital policies, including proper completion of occurrence reports as required
• Perform additional tasks as necessary

• Current MA RN license required
• Six months of dialysis and/or critical care nursing experience required (job shadowing opportunities available)
• Current CPR and BLS certifications required
