Position: Registered Nurse, Med Surg/Orthopedics, M4E, 36 Hours (Nights) w/ E/O Weekend/Holiday

Position Summary

BMC is a leading trauma and safety net hospital in New England. As a registered nurse on the Medical Surgical‑Orthopedic Unit, you will deliver patient‑centered care across orthopedics, hip fracture, ENT, and OMFS populations.

Schedule:

36‑hour nights, every other weekend/holiday.

Location:

Med Surg – Ortho Unit.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit: assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, and educate patients.
  • Communicate effectively with the health‑care team, patients, and families.
  • Coordinate and delegate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
  • Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data.
  • Follow BMC nursing guidelines and policies.
  • Assist leadership in quality‑improvement projects.
Job Requirements
  • Licensed as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
  • 1+ year RN experience (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
    Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for certain units.
  • Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred); ability to obtain BSN within four years.
  • Relevant clinical experience and specialty certifications required for certain practice areas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language is a plus.
