Job Summary NURSING DIRECTOR | Intermediate Medical Cardiology / Vascular Surgery Full Time 40 Hours | Brigham and Women’s Hospital | Boston, MA

The Opportunity:

As Nurse Director, you will provide strategic, operational, clinical, and financial leadership for a highly specialized inpatient service line that includes

Intermediate Medical Cardiology service with a 29-bed cardiology intermediate care unit (patient population includes post-cath lab, myocardial infarction, heart failure, etc.)Vascular Surgery service line with a 12-bed vascular surgery care unit Small sized float pool

Help lead and shape cardiovascular care in the years to come.

What You'll Do:

Provide Strategic and Operational Leadership Foster an environment of inclusivity, collaboration, psychological safety, trust and respect for patients, families, and interdisciplinary clinicians and colleagues.

Drive quality improvement, safety, patient-experience, and exceptional clinical outcomes as well as compliance, and accreditation readiness.

Contribute to developing and implementing Department of Nursing vision, practice model and alignment with MGB goals.

Demonstrates leadership in interdisciplinary teamwork, including participation in the development, implementation and evaluation of joint protocols for patient care.

Collaborate in creation annual operating budgets, including proposals for new initiatives, and ongoing monitoring.

Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams Serves as clinical leader which encompasses hiring and counseling, employee engagement, new hire unit orientation, mentoring and coaching, performance appraisals and feedback.

Ensure team focus on maintaining a caring, therapeutic, healing, patient- and family-centered care environment that is inclusive for a wide range of patients with a fair and just culture.

Design and adapt staffing to be responsive to dynamic care environment.

Responsible for the supervision of registered nurses, patient care associates, support personnel, and other team members as directed.

Reports to the Associate Chief Nurse, Nursing and Clinical Services of the designated areas.

Work schedule is primarily days with 24/7 accountability.

Advance Clinical Excellence Partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary leaders to advance care and ensure a caring, healing and collaborative environment.

Creates an environment that supports and celebrates the professional growth of nursing practice at all levels of experience.

Advance evidence-based practice, innovation, and nursing scholarship.

Provides opportunities for staff development and growth including participating in committees.

Qualifications Qualifications
1. Current registration/licensure in nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
2. MSN, DNP, PhD, or BSN with Master’s degree in a related field, required.
3. Five + years nursing experience required.
4. Current certification required; certification must be maintained while employed in this position.

Preferred Qualifications 3-5 years nursing management experience.
