RN, Per Diem - Westwood Main OR

The staff RN PD is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the surgical patient. Under minimal supervision, functions as a scrub and circulating nurse. Participates in call assignments including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to comply with department standards inclusive of attendance, dress code, and a varied work schedule. The primary responsibilities of the clinical nurse include, but are not limited to, the proper care of instrumentation and equipment;

direct nursing care of patients utilizing the nursing process; development and application of leadership, delegation, and communication concepts; teaching of patients, staff, and students; maintenance of professional standards. Function as a member of a team. Participate in maintaining a survey-ready environment. Ensure patient safety by following regulatory and hospital standards of care. Utilize and participate in evidence-based research to guide best practice.

• Minimum of two year's experience as a circulating and scrub
• nurse in an inpatient Operating Room
• BSN or MSN
• Current California RN license
• BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart
• Association
• Ability to push, pull, lift, up to 35 lbs.
• Skills in setting priorities, organizing workload
• effectively and integrating multiple assignments with multilevel personnel.
• Ability to speak, write, and read English with excellent
• medical/surgical terminology.
