Nurse Director Labor & Delivery Antenatal Services Department

Exceptional leadership opportunity for an experienced and accomplished Nurse Director of Labor & Delivery and Antenatal Services committed to advancing maternal and fetal care. The Opportunity:
  • Lead one of the region's most advanced inpatient obstetric programs.
  • Oversee: 23-bed Labor & Delivery Unit, 12-bed Antenatal Unit, 4 Obstetric Operating Rooms, 8 Obstetric Triage Rooms.
  • Provide strategic, operational, financial, and clinical leadership.
  • Partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary leaders to advance care and ensure a caring, healing and collaborative environment.
  • Shape the future of maternal-fetal nursing care within a nationally recognized medical center.
What You'll Do:
Provide Strategic and Operational Leadership
  • Lead the overall clinical, operational, financial, and strategic direction of Labor & Delivery and Antenatal Service.
  • Foster an environment of inclusivity, collaboration, psychological safety, trust and respect for patients, families, and interdisciplinary clinicians and colleagues.
  • Drive quality improvement, safety, patient-experience, and exceptional clinical outcomes as well as compliance, and accreditation readiness.
  • Contribute to developing, refining, implementing Department of Nursing vision, practice model and aligning with MGB goals
  • Collaborate in creation annual operating budgets, including proposals for new initiatives, and ongoing monitoring.
Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams
  • Lead workforce engagement, recruitment, retention, team building, and succession planning.
  • Mentor and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff.
  • Design and adapt staffing to be responsive to dynamic care environment.
  • Responsible for the supervision of an assistant nurse director, registered nurses, surgical technicians and others as directed.
  • Reports to the Associate Chief Nurse, Nursing and Clinical Services of the designated areas.
  • Work schedule is primarily days with 24/7 accountability.

  • Partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary leaders to advance care and ensure a caring, healing and collaborative environment.
