Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Operating Room
LocationBoston, MA
Schedule / Job TypeContract | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week | Day/Evening Rotation | Start times of 7:00 AM (days), 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM (evenings) | Every 3rd weekend as needed | Every other holiday | On-call: 1x per schedule
Key Responsibilities- Provide skilled perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties including general, gynecology, genitourinary, oral, otolaryngology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine
- Perform scrub and/or circulating duties within a 17-room OR environment staffed 24/7
- Demonstrate competency in at least 5 surgical service lines
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
- Float to alternate OR location as needed
- Adhere to all perioperative protocols, standards of care, and regulatory requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient Operating Room experience
- Scrub experience required
- Competency in at least 5 of the listed surgical specialties
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent communication skills
- Level 1 trauma center experience strongly preferred
- Experience in neurosurgery and vascular surgery
- Scrub experience beyond general, gynecology, and genitourinary services
