Our mission is to provide more accessible and dignified behavioral health care for clients when they need care the most. With a clinical model validated by McLean Hospital, we deliver comprehensive psychiatric, therapeutic, and community reintegration services to our patients.

Our teams provide high-quality, whole-person, evidence-based care, with the goal of patient stability, connection, and confidence from program admission to post-graduation.

At Overstory Health, we help adults heal, grow, and thrive by offering comprehensive behavioral health care when once-a-week therapy isn't enough. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you'll play a key role in supporting clients through some of their most challenging moments. You'll work closely with a collaborative care team to provide thoughtful psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and compassionate clinical support in both our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact—within a modern care model rooted in community, backed by evidence, and focused on whole-person healing.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide psychiatric care
  • Complete psychiatric evaluations and intake assessments for new clients

  • Prescribe and manage medications, monitor for effectiveness and side effects, and adjust as needed
  • Offer support in clinical crises and help manage complex behavioral health needs
  • Support ongoing health & recovery
  • Monitor mental and physical health status, including vital signs and symptoms
  • Oversee medication self-administration during programming and ensure safe handling of client medications
  • Educate clients and families on diagnoses, medications, and self-care strategies
  • Participate in individual check-ins and therapeutic groups when appropriate
  • Work as part of a collaborative team
  • Partner with therapists, social workers, and care coordinators to provide integrated, team-based care
  • Attend daily scheduled treatment team meetings and case reviews to discuss progress and adjust plans
  • Coordinate with outside providers and resources to support continuity of care and smooth transitions
  • Document & lead with accountability
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the EMR
  • Uphold the highest standards for ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally competent care
  • Stay current on best practices in psychiatric care and participate in ongoing learning and development

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) and board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Active, unrestricted licensure and DEA certification
  • Experience working with clients in behavioral health settings such as PHP or IOP
  • Deep knowledge of psychiatric medications, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatment
  • Clear communicator and strong team player who thrives in collaborative environments
  • Compassionate, culturally responsive, and committed to improving outcomes
  • Experience working in EMRs and adapting to new technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred

You'll Be A Good Fit If:

  • You're energized by interdisciplinary teamwork and believe great care happens through collaboration
  • You bring curiosity, humility, and empathy to every patient interaction
  • You can hold clinical boundaries while still leading with compassion
  • You're comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • You value structure, accountability, and using evidence to guide care
  • You're excited to be part of a mission-driven organization expanding access to behavioral health care in the communities that need it most

What Overstory Is All About:
