American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring an active MA license and scrub/circulate experience across multiple surgical specialties.

Requirements
  • Active MA RN license required in hand
  • Scrub and/or circulate experience in general surgery, robotics, transplants, ortho, neuro, spine, ENT (primarily head & neck), GYN, urology, organ procurement, and trauma required
  • Scrub experience highly preferred
  • Prior experience circulating ortho, neuro, ENT, general surgery, and kidney transplant cases required (liver transplant experience a plus)
  • COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required (medical exemptions allowed)
Responsibilities
  • Hospital-based Operating Room unit consisting of 10 operating rooms focused on Inpatient Level I Trauma Surgery
  • Patient population includes bariatric, neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic trauma, spine, major plastic reconstruction, robotic surgery, and kidney and liver transplant cases
  • 10-hour day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, 40 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
  • Required to work up to 2 weekends per month, either on-call (7A-7P or 7P-7A on Saturday/Sunday/holidays) or working shifts
  • On-call response time of 30 minutes required
  • Short call shift required once per week, either 3A-7A or 5P-9P
  • Primarily based on the West Main campus with potential floating to East or CVI OR
  • Eligible to work any holidays occurring during the contract period
  • Provide surgical nursing care across a wide variety of procedures including bariatric, neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic trauma, spine, major plastic reconstruction, robotic surgery, and organ transplants
  • Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
  • All RTO requests must be approved in advance
  • Previous employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break from any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility before returning
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
