Clinical Research Nurse – Maternal/Child HIV Program
Department:
Pediatric Infectious Diseases – Boston Medical Center, Boston, MA.
Schedule:
Full time (40 hrs/week), on site.
- Provide direct patient care and education for HIV/AIDS and pregnancy, including assessment, data collection, care planning, and follow‑up.
- Coordinate clinical care with pharmacy, /AIDS team, and other providers; manage medication orders, refills, and communication.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain research protocols; ensure participant eligibility, informed consent, and protocol integrity.
- Recruit, retain, and educate study participants; collect and analyze clinical data; complete case report forms and submit to sponsors.
- Assist with IRB applications, budget worksheets, and sponsor audits; ensure compliance with FDA, OHRP, and BMC policies.
- Provide training and supervision to laboratory assistants and data managers; support faculty and researcher education.
- GN or BSN in Nursing (preferred).
- Active Massachusetts RN license with annual competency maintenance.
- 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, including HIV or maternal/child services; 1–2 years research experience.
- Phlebotomy certification for pediatric and adult populations.
- Preferred certifications: LDMS, biohazard shipping, accredited clinical research program.
- Computer skills:
Word, Excel, Access; data entry, analysis, reporting. - Strong interpersonal, communication and patient education skills; ability to work across departments; knowledge of research regulations and human subjects protection.
