DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Nurse Coordinator RN with oncology experience for an ambulatory cancer center, requiring an active MA RN license and 2+ years of oncology experience.
Details- Ambulatory oncology setting supporting medical oncology physicians and nurse practitioners
- Coordinates patient care, treatment initiation, and specialty evaluations for cancer patients
- Performs telephone triage, script renewal coordination, and imaging follow up
- Provides patient education and symptom management support
- Monday through Friday day shift, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- 40 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
- No floating or charge responsibilities required
- No on-call requirements
- Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
- 2+ years of oncology experience required
- Hem Onc clinic RN experience preferred
- Experience making VNA/Hospice/DME referrals required
- Experience coordinating referrals to other specialists required
- Experience setting up imaging and IR procedures required
- Experience obtaining authorization for specialty oral chemotherapy drugs required
- Strong communication and organizational skills required
- Proficient computer and telephone triage skills required
- Works closely with MD/NP team to coordinate patient care and improve patient experience
- Serves as primary point of contact for patients prior to starting chemotherapy
- Collaborative team environment
- Free parking and free shuttle service available from parking lot
- Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
- COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, medical exemptions allowed
- Must complete Tele/ECG and Medication pass/fail testing
- Local candidates not accepted
- Must reside within 50-mile radius of facility
- Previous BIDMC or Beth Israel Lahey Health employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break before returning
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration along with interview availability
