Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units in a Level I trauma teaching hospital, requiring an active MA license and Epic experience.

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 3+ years of related RN experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area expertise preferred
• Basic computer and web-based application navigation skills required

• Float pool position supporting 15 medical-surgical units within a 600-bed facility
• Specialties include neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN, GU, hips and joints, oncology, and transplant (liver, kidney, and vascular)
• Patient ratios average 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Unit-specific procedures include 12-lead EKGs, lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• RNs administer nebulizers; RT manages ventilators
• 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, with some 8-hour shifts mixed into the schedule
• Every other weekend and holiday shifts required
• No on‑call requirement
• Assignment may shift between units every 2‑3 weeks, with some assignments given as little as 2 hours before shift start
• Weekly orientation held every Monday (barring holidays)
• Assigned to the medical‑surgical float pool covering multiple specialty units
• Must pass Tele/ECG and medication competency testing
• COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required (medical exemptions allowed)
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Public transportation available; parking may cost up to $43/day
• Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must complete a 6-month break before returning to any BILH facility
• Maximum of 3 days RTO allowed; no RTO approved during holidays
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• First‑time travelers not considered due to prior travel experience requirement
