** Schedule This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position based on-site at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The role combines leadership and clinical responsibilities, with approximately half of the time dedicated to direct patient care and half dedicated to administrative, operational, and people management activities. The Advanced Practice Manager participates in a shared provider rotation that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, with approximately 30% of shifts occurring during off-shift hours.

Weekend coverage is shared across the team and averages approximately one weekend per month.

Where You’ll Work You will work within BIDMC’s 62-bed Level II and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which cares for more than 1,000 newborns annually, including infants born as early as 22 weeks gestation. The NICU utilizes a collaborative, family-centered care model that brings together advanced practice providers, physicians, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, social workers, and other specialists to provide exceptional care to critically ill and premature infants.

What You’ll DoAs the Advanced Practice Manager, Neonatology, you will provide both clinical and administrative leadership for the NICU Advanced Practice Provider team, consisting of 18 Advanced Practice Providers. You will oversee day-to-day staff management, program operations, scheduling, professional development, and quality initiatives while partnering with clinical and administrative leaders to support departmental goals. In addition, you will maintain an active clinical practice within the NICU, delivering expert neonatal care and serving as a resource and mentor to APP staff.

* Essential Responsibilities:

*** Functions as a clinical APP responsible for direct patient care to the specialty patient population. Performs and documents preoperative evaluation (history and physical examinations). Orders and interprets diagnostic tests for patients on service.
* Examines and evaluates pre-procedure and post-procedure patients in-hospital settings as well as outpatient settings. Writes orders for medications, therapies and treatments as appropriate for the patient population.
* Performs procedures as directed by the attending physicians or surgeons based upon clinical competency and clinical practice guidelines. Provides first line care for patients in on inpatient units. Adheres to clinical pathways, as appropriate for provision of care.
