RequirementsQualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of professional gardening and/or landscape installation experience
- Prior experience leading or supervising others in a hands‑on, field‑based environment
- Strong working knowledge of plant material, planting techniques, and proper installation practices
- Ability to confidently execute plans while making thoughtful, informed adjustments in the field when needed
- Ability to perform well under pressure and within time constraints
- Ability to work overtime during busy seasons
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when working with residential clients
- Highly reliable and dependable; punctuality and follow‑through are essential
- Valid driver’s license and comfortable with city driving
- Additional certifications or licenses (e.g., pesticide applicator) preferred but not required
- Takes pride in producing high‑quality, finished work
- Is calm, respectful, and professional with homeowners, property staff, and co‑workers
- Leads by example and earns the trust of their crew
- Is organized, steady, and solutions‑oriented
- Enjoys working outdoors year‑round and understands the seasonal rhythm of garden work

We are seeking an experienced person to oversee garden installations and ongoing care while serving as a trusted on‑site presence for homeowners. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates clearly, and sets a strong example in the field. For this role, attention to detail, discretion, and craftsmanship matter.
Role OverviewThe Design Operations Coordinator is responsible for executing planting plans from start to finish—scheduling projects and team members, purchasing plant materials, ensuring thoughtful installation, and ensuring long‑term success—while leading and supporting a small crew. This role is central to delivering a polished, professional experience on every property and maintaining the standards our clients expect. While exciting and exhilarating, this job is fast‑paced and can be high pressure during peak seasons.

- Plant procurement and scheduling for daily container installations, maintenance and irrigation services
- Lead and supervise small on‑site gardening crews, setting expectations for quality, efficiency, and professionalism
- Ensure planting plans are installed accurately and with attention to detail, plant health, and design intent
- Serve as a professional, courteous point of contact for clients during on‑site work—answering questions and providing updates as appropriate
- Identify, troubleshoot, and proactively address issues in the field, escalating to management when necessary
- Maintain high standards for job site organization, safety, cleanliness, and presentation
- Support seasonal garden maintenance and planting work throughout the year, with heavier workloads during late spring/summer and fall/early winter
- Please note:
This position requires extensive physical work, such as crouching, kneeling, moving, walking, carrying plant material and heavy items, in addition to accurate and clear record‑keeping. Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Hourly, ranging from $30.00 - $42.00 per hour depending on experience
