Veterinary Research Support Technician, ARS NEIDL Max Containment

Salary Grade: Grade 47 ($25.58–$43.51 per hour) – salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, education, licenses, and internal pay comparison.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide safe and humane husbandry, technical and research support for a variety of laboratory animals.
• Perform duties at Biosafety Levels 2, 3 & 4 within a Max Containment laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with a motivated, innovative team dedicated to the study and mitigation of infectious diseases.
• Receive unique biocontainment training with opportunities for continuing education and growth.

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of lab animal related experience; BS, CVT, or ALAT preferred for RSA (Grade 46).
• Minimum 5 years of lab animal related experience, including 1 year as Veterinary Technician or equivalent; BS, CVT, or LAT preferred for RST (Grade 47).
• Minimum 7 years of lab animal related experience, including 1 year as Veterinary Technician or equivalent; BS, CVT, or LAT (preferred) for RSS (Grade 48).
• BSL‑4 experience or experience as study coordinator required.
