Description
We are seeking a Staff Veterinarian to support oncology patients and clients, including recheck appointments, management of treatment side effects, examination and management of hospitalized patients, client care, instruction of oncology interns, and hospice counseling.
Position:
Staff Veterinarian – Oncology Hospitalist
- Treat patients through the oncology department and urgent appointments related to oncology.
- Consult with and support other veterinarians and hospital services in oncology-related cases.
- Work professionally, cooperatively, and cordially with all Angell staff.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, including client and referring veterinarian communications.
Candidates must demonstrate aptitude for multi-tasking and teamwork. The successful candidate should communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with veterinary and technical staff as well as clients and referring veterinarians. Qualified applicants must have a DVM and be licensed to work in the state of Massachusetts.
Who We AreThe Angell Animal Medical Center (AAMC) in historic Boston, MA is seeking applicants for a Staff Veterinarian – Oncology Hospitalist. Angell serves the greater Boston and New England area as a primary care facility, 24-hour emergency hospital, and tertiary referral center. Angell is a premier veterinary institution staffed by 42 senior veterinarians, 17 interns, and 11 residents, offering a wide range of specialty services.
Our hospital features a state-of-the-art facility with a full-service clinical laboratory, diagnostic imaging, oncology services, and oncology radiation therapy. Angell is part of MSPCA, a long-standing humane organization. We emphasize client service, patient care, and life-work balance.
Our facility includes an ~80,000 square foot hospital with a critical care unit and multiple specialty rooms. The radiation oncology service includes a Varian True Beam linear accelerator. Our oncology team collaborates closely with surgery and pathology to provide comprehensive in-house oncology care.
