Dana‑Farber’s Molecular Cancer Imaging Facility (MCIF) collaborates with internationally renowned investigators and companies to conduct groundbreaking research in radiopharmaceutical development. The MCIF is adjacent to DFCI’s preclinical imaging facility, allowing evaluation of novel diagnostics and therapeutics in virtually any clinically relevant cancer model in longitudinal treatment studies. This work can be translated to clinic to allow physicians to better diagnose and characterize cancer, choose targeted therapies, monitor treatment efficacy, and improve the outcomes of adult and pediatric cancer patients.

MCIF is seeking outstanding applicants for Research Technician - Radiochemistry to support pre‑clinical activities.

The Research Technician is an integral member of our radiochemistry team and supports the day‑to‑day operations of the laboratory. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone interested in laboratory operations and radiopharmaceuticals in a collaborative and supportive environment. Working under the guidance of the Laboratory Manager, the successful candidate will assist with equipment maintenance, packaging and shipping (including radioactive materials), inventory management, laboratory organization, and regulatory documentation while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant workplace.

Training will be provided for all laboratory‑specific procedures, equipment, and regulatory requirements.

The positions in this job family will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, they will assist in the set‑up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitor experiments, make observations and calculate and record results.

  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of synthesis modules, analytical equipment, dose calibrators, and other laboratory instrumentation.
  • Prepare, package, and ship radiopharmaceuticals and radioisotopes in accordance with company procedures and applicable transport regulations, including coordinating courier pickups and monitoring shipments.
  • Receive radioactive materials, laboratory supplies, and other inventory, maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring complete traceability of materials.
  • Complete and maintain laboratory documentation, including shipping records, inventory logs, equipment maintenance records, and quality documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality activities, including internal audits, self‑inspections, and preparation for regulatory inspections, while following all laboratory, radiation safety, environmental health and safety, and quality procedures.
  • Support the daily operation of the laboratory by maintaining supplies, assisting with inventory management, and ensuring equipment, materials, and documentation are readily available.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and inspection‑ready laboratory by performing general housekeeping, coordinating routine cleaning activities, and completing scheduled laboratory safety checks, including eyewash inspections.
  • Communicate with customers, couriers, collaborators, and internal team members to coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and provide shipment‑related support.
