The Senior Lab Technician will support day-to-day laboratory operations for client sites in the Greater Boston area in an on-site capacity. This contract role includes maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, monitoring critical instruments, and coordinating routine maintenance and calibration. The technician will manage inventories of lab consumables and reagents, assist with waste handling processes, and support implementation of lab moves or reconfigurations as needed.
Responsibilities also include following established quality control procedures, documenting activities in lab systems, and collaborating with scientists, facilities teams, and EH&S staff to maintain a safe, compliant, and well‑organized laboratory environment. The role may involve assisting with lab inspections, supporting onboarding of new equipment or workflows, and contributing to continuous improvement of lab operations.
- Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills and experience working as laboratory technicians in research or industrial settings.
- Candidates should possess hands‑on proficiency with a range of laboratory equipment, including routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and calibration.
- Candidates should possess quality control capabilities, including adherence to SOPs, documentation of procedures, and support for compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills for interpreting instrument performance, identifying operational issues, and recommending practical solutions.
- Experience in life sciences or biotechnology environments, especially in lab operations or facilities support, is beneficial.
- Knowledge of EH&S practices, biosafety, and chemical safety in laboratory settings is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment are preferred.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (such as biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field) or equivalent experience is desirable.
