Research Technician in Chouchani lab

This position is in Dr. Edward Chouchani’s Lab. It assists scientists with laboratory work, using mice, performing basic molecular biology, cell biology, and related techniques.

• Assisting postdocs and students with cell-based assays, including maintenance of cell lines, isolation of primary cells from mouse tissue, and flow cytometry.
• Assisting with biochemical techniques such as protein purification and quantification, enzyme assays, and metabolite measurements.
• Assisting with molecular biology techniques such as plasmid purification and bacterial transformation.
• Maintaining the Chouchani Lab animal (laboratory mouse) colony, including weaning, tail biopsies, DNA preparation and genotyping by PCR.
• Maintaining Chouchani lab animal protocols.
• Placing orders for lab consumables.
• General lab management: keeping processes running, organized, and stocked.

• Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree with a scientific specialty (or obtained in Spring 2026).
• Willingness to work with laboratory mice.
• Preferred experience in a medical or scientific research setting.
• Self‑motivated, independent worker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum two-year commitment required.

No supervisory responsibilities. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
