Summary
This role is designed for candidates who plan to pursue advanced graduate studies (e.g., a Ph.D. or M.D.) and offers an opportunity to engage in rigorous research projects under the mentorship of leading scholars. The position provides hands‑on experience in research methodologies, data analysis, and academic writing, making it an excellent stepping‑stone for future educational and research careers. Responsibilities- Collaborate on research projects, contributing to study design, data collection, and analysis.
- Conduct systematic literature reviews to summarize existing research in the field.
- Develop and maintain datasets for research purposes.
- Perform statistical, quantitative, and/or computational analyses.
- Organize, attend and effectively participate in team meetings, workshops, and seminars.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching or training materials as needed.
- Draft, edit, and contribute to research publications, presentations, and grant proposals.
Bachelor’s Degree Related Field of Study required and Master’s Degree Related Field of Study preferred.
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.
ExperiencePrevious Research Lab Experience 0‑1 year preferred or Research Related Experience 0‑1 year preferred or New grad with some relevant coursework 0‑1 year preferred or Experience in a clinical or hospital setting 0‑1 year preferred.

The Kingston Laboratory in the MGH Department of Molecular Biology is recruiting new college graduates to join our research group and enrich their scientific development working in the exciting field of epigenetics ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to assist with projects studying molecular machines (Polycomb and Trithorax Group protein complexes) that modulate chromatin structure to maintain appropriate gene expression during development.
This position offers the opportunity to learn advanced techniques in molecular biology, cell biology, protein biochemistry, cell culture and genetic editing in the study of chromatin regulatory complexes both in vitro and in vivo. Numerous projects provide opportunities for independent research and publication.
This position is ideal for the graduating student who is looking for 2‑3 years of research experience before pursuing graduate studies.
