Job Description
We are looking for an Immunogenomics Research Assistant at Harvard Medical School to join the CBDM lab, a leading research group investigating immunological tolerance and autoimmune disease. Under the guidance of the PI and research scientists, the Research Assistant will belong to a team analyzing the function of gene programs in controlling immunological tolerance and inflammation, in general, and as applies to inflammatory bowel disease or neurodegeneration.
This position will also play an active role in the Imm Gen Consortium, a collaborative network that aims to dissect gene expression and its regulation in the immune system. This research involves an array of cutting‑edge tools in immunology and genomics (gene editing, multi‑parameter flow cytometry, single‑cell RNAseq, TCR analysis, CRISPR screens). The candidate will participate in computational data analysis in relation with computational biologists in the lab and within Imm Gen, participate generally in the lab’s operation and management of equipment and supplies, and assist with providing training for other lab personnel.
We are looking for a team player with strong organizational and multitasking abilities, who will work with several other research scientists in the lab.
- College background or equivalent work experience, preferably in a related discipline.
- At least one year of related work experience in molecular biology or genomics (relevant laboratory coursework may count towards experience).
- BA/BS or master’s degree preferred.
- Familiarity with computer usage.
Physical Requirements &
Working Conditions:
- Research Lab bench work, data analysis.
- Appointment End Date: this is a term position from the date of hire with an end date of October 31, 2029, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.
- Standard Hours/
Schedule:
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. - Visa Sponsorship Information: Harvard University is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
- Pre‑Employment Screening: Identity, criminal, and pre‑placement medical evaluation.
- Work Location: All duties and responsibilities must be performed at a Harvard or Harvard‑designated location.
Salary Grade and Ranges: this position is salary grade level 052. Harvard's Salary Ranges provide corresponding salary range and related information.
