HMS - Postdoctoral Fellow in Systems Biology

We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Lahav lab at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. The Lahav lab studies how cancer and healthy cells respond to irradiation and DNA‑damaging drugs, using quantitative live‑cell imaging at the single‑cell level. We welcome applications from recent PhD graduates interested in these or related areas, especially those with expertise in quantitative in‑vivo and ex‑vivo imaging.

The successful candidate will work with Dr. Lahav to develop an independent research project within the scope of the lab’s research focus. In addition to carrying out research, the successful candidate will be expected to apply for fellowship funding, contribute to the writing of grants and manuscripts, participate in teaching and mentoring of lab members as needed, and otherwise contribute to overall lab operations and collaborative environment.

Basic Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in Biology, Biophysics, Biomedicine, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience working with and imaging mouse models
  • Experience harvesting tissues and performing in vivo and ex vivo tissue imaging (e.g., organotypic slice cultures, intravital imaging, and/or ex vivo tissue imaging)

Candidates with both experimental and computational expertise in single‑cell imaging are especially encouraged to apply.
