Position: Advisor / Senior Advisor - Discovery Biology - Osteoporosis

We are seeking an experienced discovery biologist to provide scientific leadership and hands‑on expertise to help shape early research strategy and advance novel therapeutic concepts for osteoporosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent scientific and technical leadership to drive early discovery research focused on osteoporosis and skeletal biology, including target evaluation, hypothesis generation, and mechanism‑based therapeutic strategies.
  • Maintain a hands‑on laboratory presence, developing and executing in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models and assays to support preclinical drug discovery.
  • Design and conduct experiments for target validation, preclinical pharmacology, and mechanism‑of‑action studies, with a focus on bone remodeling and skeletal integrity.
  • Contribute as a core biology lead within cross‑functional project teams, partnering closely with medicinal chemistry, translational, and safety colleagues.
  • Function independently while contributing effectively within a team‑oriented lab environment.
  • Provide scientific mentorship and supervision to 1–2 scientists, including performance feedback and career development support as appropriate.
  • Ensure high data quality and scientific rigor, including accurate documentation, independent data analysis, and clear communication of results in written and oral formats.
  • Perform work in full compliance with Lilly Research Policies, safety requirements, and training expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in biology, biophysics, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related STEM field; OR
  • Master's degree in biology, biophysics, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related STEM field with 8+ years of relevant industry experience
Additional Skills /

Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep expertise in bone biology, including osteoblast/osteoclast biology, bone remodeling, or endocrine regulation of skeletal health.
  • 2 years Post Doc training
  • Hands‑on experience with preclinical in vivo osteoporosis models, and supporting in vitro and ex vivo systems.
  • Track record of implementing or advancing novel assays or research platforms to answer key biological questions.
  • Strong scientific communication skills and experience presenting data in multidisciplinary team settings.
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound scientific judgment, and comfort operating under ambiguity.
  • Experience spanning both osteoporosis and Women’s health related disorders, such as endometriosis, preeclampsia, PCOS, and menopause related preclinical research is a plus.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $138,000 - $224,400.

Full‑time employees will also be eligible for a company bonus (depending on company and individual performance).
