Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Analytical Chemist will join the Mass Spectrometry group. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development, validation, and execution of LC-MS methods across a diverse range of modalities—from primary metabolites and small molecules to complex peptides and intact proteins.

Analytical Chemist Responsibilities
  • Method Development:
Design and optimize robust LC-MS/MS methods for the quantification and characterization of small molecules, specialized metabolites, peptides, and proteins.
  • Instrumentation:
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot state-of-the-art mass spectrometers, specifically Thermo Orbitrap (Exploris/Lumos) and Triple Quadrupole (TSQ) systems.
  • Data Processing:
Utilize advanced software (e.g., Trace Finder, Compound Discoverer, Proteome Discoverer, or Skyline) to process complex datasets and deliver actionable insights to project teams.
  • Independent Execution:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from initial experimental design and sample preparation to final data reporting, with minimal supervision.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with metabolic engineers, synthetic biologists, and automation engineers to integrate analytical assays into the high-throughput pipelines.
Analytical Chemist Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field; or a Bachelors degree with 3+ years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with high-resolution accurate mass (HRAM) and MRM/SRM workflows.
  • Expertise in various chromatography techniques (RPLC, HILIC, Ion Exchange).
  • Familiarity with sample preparation techniques for biological matrices (SPE, SLE, protein precipitation).
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware issues and interpret "messy" biological data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analytical findings to non‑experts.
