Research Associate – Antibody Characterization (onsite in Quincy, MA)

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team and expand our antibody characterization department. Using state-of-the‑art technologies and workflows, this Research Associate will work with the Antibody Characterization team to ensure project‑specific deliverables are met across a diverse panel of discovery campaigns and contract services. The role involves wet‑lab experimental design, execution, and data analysis for multiple custom antibody development projects, incorporating various biologics assay formats.
Whatyou will be doing
- Performing titer testing, screening, and antibody validation by high‑throughput multicolor flow cytometry and ELISA
- Running and troubleshooting cell‑based functional assays
- Performing mammalian cell culture, including thaw, maintenance, expansion, cryopreservation, and QC of a wide variety of adherent and suspension cell lines
- Developing, running, and troubleshooting antibody characterization experiments using advanced label‑free analytical techniques (e.g., BLI and SPR) in various formats to evaluate binding kinetics, ligand blocking, and binning
- Sample handling, sample inventory tracking, and assisting with automation integration into the department
- Concurrently executing multiple antibody discovery projects requiring wet lab activities, data analysis, report generation, and preparation of deliverables adhering to project timelines
- Record and communicate experimental details, draft reports, and deliver data with a high level of integrity and ethics
- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or a master’s degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent aseptic technique and experience with mammalian adherent and suspension cell culture are required.
- Flow cytometry experience is required.
- Ability to troubleshoot scientific processes.
- Ability to work independently, but also collaborate and effectively communicate within and across departmental team.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail oriented and able to operate in a fast‑paced and growing environment.
- Industry experience strongly preferred.
- Understanding of antibody discovery, preferably focusing on assay development and protein characterization, is preferred.
- Previous experience with Carterra, Octet, Hamilton, and/or iQue instruments nice to have.
- Direct experience with ELISA preferred.
Massachusetts pay range: $79,000 – $95,000 USD.
