Position Overview

We are seeking a Primary Market Research Associate (Junior Associate level) to join our Tech Atlas research team, with a strong focus on designing and executing primary market research (PMR) to generate proprietary insights that inform investment decisions across RA Capital's healthcare portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of healthcare market research, data analysis, and AI-enabled workflows, and is ideal for individuals early in their careers who are eager to build expertise in evidence-based investing.

Candidates must be excited about incorporating AI into their day-to-day work to enhance research quality, efficiency, and scalability. RA Capital is looking for individuals who are proactive in experimenting with new tools, improving workflows, and contributing to an AI-forward research environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute primary market research (PMR) studies, including survey and qualitative instrument development, screener logic, questionnaire design, and study flow
  • Own end-to-end research execution, from aligning on research objectives through fielding, vendor coordination, and final data delivery
  • Manage external research vendors, including scoping projects, evaluating proposals, monitoring timelines, and ensuring high-quality sample and data integrity
  • Conduct rigorous data quality control and validation to ensure reliability of primary research outputs
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights that directly support investment decision-making
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Tech Atlas, Equity Research, Quantitative Research, and Ventures teams to translate investment theses into well-defined research questions
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance workflows, including survey design, data analysis, and insight generation; proactively identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains
  • Develop clear and compelling deliverables, including visualizations and presentations that communicate insights effectively to internal stakeholders
Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, public health, or related field; advanced degree (MS, MPH, or similar) is a plus
