Must have skills:

• Hands‑on experience in mammalian cell culture techniques and maintenance of cell lines.
• Experience in cell‑based assay execution
  , optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to assay development, validation, and routine assay execution in a laboratory setting.
• Experience in screening and testing compounds using established biological assays.
• Working knowledge of immunoassay platforms and technologies such as MSD (Meso Scale Discovery) and AlphaLISA/Alpha assays
  .
• Ability to analyze and interpret experimental data using basic statistical methods, including mean, standard deviation, and correlation analysis
  .
• Proficiency in data visualization and presentation tools such as Graph Pad Prism and Microsoft Power Point .
• Strong documentation, data analysis, and scientific reporting skills.

• Education Requirements: B.S./B.A. degree with a minimum 3 years of experience; or a M.S. degree with a minimum 1 year of experience. PhD qualification is not required for this role.
• Experience: Extensive job‑related laboratory research experience and medium/high throughput assay execution in academic or industrial setting.
• Proficiency in cell culture, passaging and harvesting is required.
• Solid data analytical and problem‑solving skills and proficiency in standard scientific software used for data analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to function and communicate effectively in a multi‑disciplinary environment and thrive in a team environment.
• Hands‑on assay development and troubleshooting skills and proficiency with different high throughput screen formats is a plus.

The Cell Pharmacology group in the Department of Quantitative Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a background in biology research and drug discovery to join Merck Research Laboratories in Boston.

• Design and implement various in vitro cellular assays, and execute high‑throughput compound and biologics screens in support of internal drug discovery programs.
• Work independently and collaboratively with colleagues in Quantitative Biosciences and across other departments.
• Develop and execute experimental strategies to define biomarkers, mechanisms of action, and resistance of therapeutic agents of interest.
• Properly document and report experimental findings and provide scientific contribution to research projects/programs in multiple disease areas.
• Work closely with members within the department and across functional teams in support of research projects/programs at different stages.
