About Apogee Therapeutics

Founded in 2022, Apogee Therapeutics, Inc. (Ticker: APGE) is a well‑funded, Nasdaq‑listed company that offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, highly dynamic environment. Apogee is a clinical‑stage biotechnology company advancing novel biologics with potential for differentiated efficacy and dosing in the largest I&I markets. Apogee’s antibody programs are designed to overcome limitations of existing therapies by targeting well‑established mechanisms of action and incorporating advanced antibody engineering to optimize half‑life and other properties.

The company’s most advanced program, Zumilokibart (APG
777), is being initially developed for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD) and asthma. Apogee seeks to achieve best‑in‑class efficacy and dosing through monotherapies and combinations of its novel antibodies.

Role Summary

The Department of Research and Translational Medicine seeks an Associate Director, Inflammation Biology. Reporting to the Director of I&I Biology, you will lead and mentor a team of scientists, providing scientific leadership for studies defining antibody mechanisms of action (MOA) and target biology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply deep expertise in biology and pharmacology to provide strategic scientific vision and guide therapeutic I&I biology research across atopic dermatitis, allergic asthma, EoE, and other I&I indications.
  • Design, develop, and oversee disease‑relevant and complex in‑vitro and ex‑vivo models using multiple primary human cell types to evaluate the mechanism of action of Apogee antibodies and target biology.
  • Contribute to authoring and reviewing regulatory submissions and publications.
  • Manage and coordinate projects (in‑house & CRO) to ensure adherence to timelines and goals.
  • Establish and promote laboratory best practices.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data from studies to inform on program decisions and effectively communicate outcomes and recommendations to the research group and senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with scientists across functions to generate high‑quality data supporting programs from discovery through development.
Ideal Candidate
  • Ph.D. degree and a minimum of 6 years of scientific/technical experience.
  • Broad understanding of I&I disease biology (atopic dermatitis, asthma, and EoE) and a strong knowledge of inflammatory cytokine/chemokine networks.
  • Hands‑on expertise developing and validating complex in‑vitro and ex‑vivo functional models using disease‑relevant cell types.
  • Proficiency in analyzing large, cross‑platform data sets and assay platforms such as ELISA/MSD, flow cytometry, and cytokine/mediator release assays to characterize and advance therapeutic antibodies and target biology.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines and shifting priorities simultaneously.
  • CRO management experience, including evaluation of new CROs.
  • Experience managing and developing junior scientists.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication in formal and informal settings.
  • Self‑driven, team‑oriented mindset.
  • Demonstration of Apogee’s C.O.R.E. values:
    Caring, Original, Resilient, and Egoless.
  • Up to 10% travel, including mandatory in‑person attendance at all‑hands meetings typically held twice per year.
  • Onsite work at the Apogee lab in Boston, MA three days per week.
Salary

The anticipated salary range for this role is $185,000 – $205,000 per year. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, including relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
