The Research Technician 1 supports laboratory investigations involving retinal tissue preparation, microspectrophotometry, and related data collection and analysis activities. Responsibilities include retinal tissue dissections in controlled dark‑room environments, operation of specialized laboratory instrumentation, and support of laboratory operations in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. The position will contribute to experimental workflows through accurate data collection, organization, and computational analysis of tissue samples under the guidance of the principal investigator and laboratory staff.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining laboratory inventory, supporting operational organization of the laboratory, and providing day‑to‑day guidance to undergraduate or summer research trainees as assigned. This position is well suited to an individual seeking to develop foundational laboratory and research skills within a collaborative scientific environment.
