Job Description

The Discovery Analytical Research group within Analytical Enabling Capabilities is seeking a Senior Scientist for our Boston, Massachusetts research facility. The successful candidate will contribute to discovering new drug candidates—including biologics, small molecules, and other emerging modalities—by developing, implementing, and executing analytical measurement technologies that accelerate discovery research and influence molecular design. A broad range of tools (high‑resolution mass spectrometry, chromatography, spectroscopy, etc.)

will be leveraged, and new technologies will be developed to improve selection of drug candidates and enhance scalability and robustness. Collaboration in a dynamic, integrated, multidisciplinary team environment is essential.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Enable discovery partner groups with advanced analytical methods.
  • Represent the discovery analytical research group in project teams.
  • Solve challenging problems by applying one or more analytical techniques, including but not limited to high‑resolution mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, ion chromatography, size exclusion chromatography, and two‑dimensional techniques.
  • Explore and develop new technologies applicable to the field of measurement science.
  • Demonstrate effective multitasking, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills during the planning and execution of experiments.
Education &

Minimum Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
  • Or M.S. in Analytical Chemistry or a related field with 5+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Strong background and extensive hands‑on experience in high‑resolution mass spectrometry of large molecules (proteins, mAbs, ADCs, etc.) and separation science techniques.
  • Demonstrated scientific ability through publications in peer‑reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated creativity, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver complex objectives under challenging timelines in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with cross‑functional interactions.
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Understanding of biochemistry and organic chemistry.
  • Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebook applications and good documentation practices.
