Gene Editing Research Technician
The Center for Rare Neurological Diseases and Eichler Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital seeks an exceptional Gene Editing Research Technician to implement bench work involving in vitro cell culture and animal models of neurogenetic diseases in the Center for Genomic Medicine. We focus on single-gene disorders where a single gene defect is sufficient to cause disability and suffering and seek to implement innovative strategies and create partnerships that advance treatments for rare diseases and address the many unmet needs in the community.
In the past two years, the Eichler Lab Laboratory has been tasked with leadership of the Precision Therapeutics Unit, expanding its efforts to develop and implement cutting-edge precision medicine approaches for rare neurological diseases. The laboratory is also working closely with the Haggarty Laboratory to advance gene editing technologies and therapeutic development through collaborative translational research initiatives.
The Research Technician will receive training and support from current laboratory staff, as well as guidance and supervision from the Principal Investigator. This is a full-time position requiring a committed individual with experience in molecular biology, bench research, and cell culture systems and is ideal for candidates pursuing medical or graduate school. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, passionate, able to work independently, and an excellent team player.
