Vice President of R&D; Life Sciences

We are partnering with an innovative pharmaceutical organization based in Cambridge, MA that is seeking a visionary Vice President of Research & Development to lead scientific strategy, drive innovation, and advance a robust product pipeline from discovery through development.

Position:
Vice President, Research & Development

• Define and execute the company's R&D strategy aligned with corporate objectives
• Lead multidisciplinary research and development teams across discovery, preclinical, and translational sciences
• Drive advancement of therapeutic candidates through key development milestones
• Collaborate closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and Business Development teams
• Evaluate new technologies, scientific opportunities, and strategic partnerships
• Manage R&D budgets, resources, and organizational growth
• Represent the company to investors, scientific advisory boards, regulatory agencies, and external partners
• Foster a culture of innovation, scientific excellence, and operational execution

• PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced scientific degree in a relevant discipline
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations
• Proven track record of advancing drug development programs from discovery through clinical development
• Deep expertise in translational science, preclinical development, and drug discovery
• Experience building and leading high-performing scientific organizations
• Strong strategic, operational, and executive leadership capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Experience with in emerging biotech or growth-stage pharmaceutical companies
• History of successful IND submissions and advancement of assets into clinical trials
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and external scientific partners
• Demonstrated success in fundraising support, due diligence activities, or investor presentations
