The Talkowski Laboratory in the Center for Genomic Medicine (CGM) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute is seeking exceptional postdoctoral candidates in computational biology, bioinformatics, and/or statistical genetics. Candidates would direct collaborative research initiatives seeking to determine the functional impact of genomic variations in developmental, neuropsychiatric, and neurodegenerative disorders.

Highly qualified candidates would oversee one or more of the following studies: (1) Functional genomics analyses from human iPSC-derived neuronal cells or three-dimensional organoid models modified using CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing. (2) Multi-omics data integration to define the functional impact of genomic variation and editing across neuronal models of developmental, neuropsychiatric, and neurodegenerative disorders. (3) Mechanistic interpretation of molecular signatures to uncover therapeutically actionable targets.

The candidate will be appointed as a Research Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Post-Doc at the Harvard Medical School, and Associated Scientist at the Broad Institute. Candidates will also require excellent interpersonal skills to work in a highly collaborative environment across institutions.

Visa sponsorship is available for Postdoctoral Fellows.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Postdoctoral Fellow will have the opportunity to work in a unique translational genomics environment within the CGM, which seeks to integrate computational genomics, technology development, and molecular genomics methods. At the Broad Institute, these collaborative projects span the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research, and the Program in Medical and Population Genetics. Candidates will work with cutting-edge data types like single-cell transcriptome sequencing, Hi-C studies of 3D topology, ATACseq, 4

Cseq, and other datasets in iPSC-derived neurons and organoid models of neurodevelopment. They will develop systematic computational frameworks for the integration and mechanistic interpretation of large-scale genomics datasets, synthesizing multi-omics signals into coherent biological models that reveal the molecular underpinnings of disease. These efforts will drive the identification and prioritization of high-confidence targets for downstream molecular investigation and therapeutic development.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be based at MGH under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Michael. Talkowski.
