Overview
The Department of Data Science at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks candidates with a strong background in statistics to serve as the Associate Director of the Breast Oncology Statistical Program. The role will involve working on clinical trials and translational research with the Breast Oncology Program, directing junior statisticians, and leading complex collaborative projects.
Responsibilities- Direct and supervise data analytic activities of junior statisticians and lead complex projects.
- Train, mentor, and oversee design activities of junior statistical staff; contribute to scientific program direction with program leaders.
- Represent the department on committees such as Scientific Review Committees and Institutional Review Board.
- Guide junior statisticians in preparing scientific manuscripts.
- Consult on grant submissions and coordinate with grants manager on budgets and administrative aspects.
- Manage research portfolio, coordinate statisticians, and ensure investigators have clear avenues for statistical assistance.
- Serve as team leader on projects, supervise junior team members, and participate in their annual evaluations.
PhD degree in Statistics or Biostatistics and five years of experience are required. The candidate must have experience in oncology and the design and analysis of clinical trials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Computational:
Proficient with UNIX/Linux and statistical software such as R or SAS. - Statistical methodology expertise, coding, data analysis, and effective presentation of results; ability to implement state-of-the-art analytic techniques and complex study designs.
- Strong collaboration:
Lead research teams and large projects, and communicate complex research designs and results to clinical collaborators.
