When you join the growing BILH team, you’re not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.
The postdoctoral fellow will develop and apply computational/statistical methods utilizing genetic and omics data to understand health and disease phenotypes. The position is in the Sofer lab, at the Cadio Vascular Institute (CVI) at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Current areas of methodological applications in the group include genetic association analyses, variance components models, polygenic risk scores development, and data integration in diverse populations.
Data types include genetics, metabolomics, RNA‑seq, proteomics, and methylation. The fellow will be supported by NIH grants, and specific projects will depend on the fellow’s skills and interests, within the scope of the grants funding the lab. The fellow will work collaboratively with a diverse group of experts in statistics, bioinformatics, genetics, and epidemiology. They will have opportunities for mentorship of students.
The candidate will ideally have background in handling large genetic data, familiarity with statistical genetics models, interest in the study of admixed populations, and passion for developing computational and statistical methods. Doctoral degree in Biostatistics, Population Genetics, Computational Genomics, Genetic Epidemiology, Computer Science, or equivalent, is required.
