In Vivo Research Associate
We are seeking a highly motivated BS-level scientist or equivalent to execute in-vivo rodent experiments on a client site. The experiments are aimed at understanding PK/ADME properties and the mechanism of action of new therapeutics. This position requires strong proficiency in in-life procedures and a basic understanding of pharmacokinetics/pharmacology concepts. Daily responsibilities could include:
- Execute in vivo experiments to determine ADME properties, pharmacokinetics, and biomarker responses in rodents. This includes rodent handling, drug delivery via multiple routes of administration (IV, SC, IV, PO), necropsy, and sample collection
- In collaboration with other members of the group, develop and troubleshoot novel models for understanding drug metabolism properties and the mechanism of action of new molecular entities
- Independently document study data
The successful candidate will possess:
- Strong in-vivo rodent handling skills, including injections, sample collection, restraining techniques, and anesthesia
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain operating standards and policies related to in vivo studies
- A basic understanding of pharmacokinetic/pharmacology research, specifically those driving the exposure/effect relationship of NCEs
- A flexible team-based attitude suitable for an entrepreneurial discovery research environment
Required experience:
- Degree in animal sciences, biology, pharmacology, or related scientific discipline with 1-2 years of industry or academic experience. BS degree preferred, but will consider equivalent experience in lieu of a formal degree.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
What to expect in the hiring process:
- 10-15 minute phone interview with region recruiter
- 45-60 minute virtual interview with manager and/or group leader
- 45-60 meeting in-person to meet with the team
The position is on-site, full-time, first shift, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes that may require shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed.
