One NIH‑funded postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Lu Huang in the Department of Virology, Immunology and Microbiology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
The Huang laboratory focuses on innate immune responses during Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, with a particular focus on the immunometabolism of innate immune cells, including macrophages and neutrophils. The lab employs multidisciplinary approaches including immunology, microbiology, cell biology, metabolism, and genomics to address fundamental questions in host–pathogen interactions and innate immune responses in the lung.
Required SkillsThe qualified candidate should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Immunology, Microbiology, Lung Biology, Cell Biology or a related field. The candidate is expected to have extensive experience in small animal procedures, flow cytometry and immune cell purification and culture. A solid background in macrophage biology, innate immunity, immunometabolism and experience working in a Biosafety Level 3 laboratory is particularly encouraged.
Strong time‑management and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment are required.
