Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Post-Doctoral Scientist – Delivery, Devices & Connected Solutions (DDCS) Inhaled Drug Formulati[...]

Position Overview

Post‑doctoral scientist contributing to pulmonary and nasal delivery through computational model development to support next‑generation inhalation therapies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute in vitro aerosol characterization experiments using pulmonary/nasal device platforms (droplet size distribution, delivered dose, delivery efficiency).
  • Develop, validate, and apply CFD or PBPK/PBPD models to predict regional aerosol deposition across patient‑representative airway geometries.
  • Integrate experimental aerosol data with in‑silico deposition predictions to support formulation optimization.
  • Develop/validate IVIVC frameworks linking in vitro aerosol metrics (MMAD, FPF, delivered dose) to predicted in vivo regional deposition and, where feasible, PK/PD endpoints.
  • Use uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis to assess variability in predicted deposition.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally and communicate via reports, presentations, and peer‑reviewed publications.
Basic Requirements
  • Ph.D. (conferred within past 3 years) in Mechanical/Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, Aerosol Science, or closely related field.
  • Hands‑on pulmonary/nasal device characterization experience (e.g., NGI, laser diffraction, DUSA) and/or experimental fluid dynamics.
  • Proven computational modeling proficiency (e.g., ANSYS Fluent/OpenFOAM CFD; MPPD).
  • Strong, career‑stage‑appropriate publication record.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced matrix environment.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. full‑time; no visa sponsorship.
Additional Preferences
  • Airway geometry modeling experience (e.g., Weibel, stochastic, CT‑derived).
  • Industry internship or academic–industry research.
  • Self‑directed, motivated; strong oral/written communication and data analysis.
Other Information/Compensation
  • Fixed‑term: 1 year, extendable up to 4 years.
  • Anticipated wage: $58,000–$123,200; eligibility for company bonus and comprehensive benefits (401(k), medical/dental/vision, life insurance, time off).
