Position

Late-Stage LNP Process Development Engineer

Job Overview

The LNP Process Development Engineer will lead process characterization studies and support late‑stage manufacturing readiness activities for lipid nanoparticle (LNP) programs, with emphasis on high‑pressure mixing technologies and tangential flow filtration (TFF).

Responsibilities
  • Perform DoE‑type studies to identify critical process parameters (CPPs) and characterize acceptable operating ranges (NORs/ PARs) for each unit operation.
  • Collaborate with process and analytical teams to develop and qualify scale‑down models for Phase 3 process characterization.
  • Support de‑risking studies and help lock a scaled‑up, Phase 3‑ready process.
  • Assist technology transfers of late‑stage programs to manufacturing sites and contribute to batch readiness and technical investigations.
  • Author relevant process development and characterization reports and support regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain accurate lab notebooks and troubleshoot equipment and maintenance needs.
  • Participate in technical discussions and meetings, proactively communicating findings to stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications / Requirements
  • BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field with ≥3 years of industry experience with LNP formulation OR MS Degree with ≥1 year of industry experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with LNP unit operations such as TFF, high‑pressure mixing, filtration, and lipid solubilization.
  • Experience using statistical software to analyze large data sets and guide future studies.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis;

  • Experience with process development and process characterization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to thrive in a team‑driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities and handle ambiguity.

Compensation

Anticipated salary range: $71,250 – $187,000 per year. Full‑time employees are eligible for a company bonus and a comprehensive benefits program.
