The position reports directly to the Head of Experimental Therapeutics Core.
The individual will work closely with the preclinical and clinical scientists at the Institute and leading industry collaborators to design and execute oncology‑related mouse studies. A successful candidate requires the ability to organize and manage a workload independently while aiding team members in building a collaborative environment. They must keep detailed, accurate records of completed studies to report findings to investigators, contributing to further research or publication. The position is located at 27 Dry Dock Ave, South Boston.

- Routine handling, restraint, identification (including ear notching and tattooing) of mice or rats.
- Establish and maintain mouse and rat cancer models to test efficacy, tolerability, and PK/PD of novel therapeutics.
- Independently execute in vivo studies by dosing therapeutics agents by various routes (e.g., oral gavage, intraperitoneal, intravenous).
- Monitor cancer progression through bioluminescence imaging, flow cytometry, or caliper measurements.
- Perform blood drawings, necropsies, and process ex vivo samples.
- Mammalian cell culture and maintenance of cell lines.
- Interpret, present, and document experiments based on data generated to investigators, often leading to further experiments or publications.
- Maintain and report accurate records of inventory/equipment.
- Follow IACUC requirements (animal standard operating procedures) and DFCI institutional guidelines and policies.
- Provide any necessary training and support to staff members. Work within a team environment while maintaining independent responsibilities. Mentor team members and take on project leadership responsibilities.
