We are a nonprofit dedicated to facilitating research and driving improvements in care and outcomes for people with type 1 diabetes. Our mission is to help those with Type 1 diabetes live better, longer lives.

About the role

This is atemporary contract positionthat provides researchsupport to theReal-World Evidence(RWE) and Research team as projectneeds arise. The Research team conductsobservational, qualitative, and mixed-methods research to improve outcomes for people with type 1diabetes (T1D), leveragingreal-world data(RWD) from theT1DExchange Quality Improvement Collaborative and theT1D Exchange Registry. There is an upcoming short-term need (Oct 2026 - Jan 2026), and other needs may arise in the future.

The Research Associate will work closely with the Outcomes Research and Registryteams, sponsors, investigators, and other internal stakeholders to support the design, implementation, and dissemination of research studies. Thisrole contributes across multiple phases oftheresearch lifecycle, fromstudy planning andprotocol development throughdata collection, analysissupport, and scientificdissemination.

What you'll do
  • Develop and executeresearch projects fromhypothesis generation throughdissemination, includingqualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methodsstudies.
  • Conduct background research, including literature reviews, and client/study sponsor discussions, to informstudy design and research objectives.
  • Develop study materials, including research protocols, informed consent documents, survey instruments, data collection tools, andother study-related documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement observationalresearch studies usingreal-world data(RWD) and surveymethodologies.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and oversee participant recruitment, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data management, and studytracking, as applicable.
  • Conduct or support quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpretstudy findings.
  • Prepare and present research plans, interimupdates, and studyfindings to internalandexternal stakeholders.
  • Draft, edit, and contribute to scientificdeliverables, includingabstracts, posters, presentations, manuscripts, study reports, and other publication-ready materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with investigators, sponsors, research partners, andother internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices in observationaland patient-centeredresearch, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable federal andstate regulations.
  • Perform other research-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree orhigher in publichealth, epidemiology, health services research, psychology, sociology, or arelated health orsocial science field.
  • Two ormore years of experience conducting observational, qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research.
  • Experience developing and executing research studies, including literature reviews, study protocols, informedconsent documents, surveydesign, data analysis, interpretation, and scientific dissemination.
  • Knowledge of human subjects research regulations, including IRB processes.
  • Strong scientific writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with research sponsors, healthcare organizations, or the pharmaceutical industryis preferred.
  • Experience in diabetes research and patient reported outcomes is preferred.
Compensation

Between $70 and $90 per hour based on experience
