Director Of Ligand Binding Assays
Are you ready to lead a team of Bioanalytical scientists? Ready to test your expertise of large molecules, cell/gene therapy, and biologics? Would a role, serving as the subject matter expert (SME) n the field of developing and validation of a wide variety of assays associated with drug development with an emphasis on the regulated Biologics and Cell and Gene Therapy testing excite you?
We are seeking a Director of Ligand Binding Assays to lead a science and operations team driving the US Ligand Binding and cell-based assay services for our international contract laboratory client.
Essential Functions
- Involved in the conduct and execution of studies involving immunoassays (Ligand Binding Assays) for pharmacokinetics (PK), anti-drug antibodies (ADA), neutralizing antibody assays (Nab), soluble protein biomarker assays, flow cytometry and cell-based assays.
- Managing the work activities of the ligand binding assay team including resource planning and allocation, client communication, technical documents generation and review, mentoring staff.
- Identify strategic development and business opportunities, bring positive changes to the organization. Collaborates with all US sites and divisions to integrate Biologics and CGT capabilities with the goal of increasing efficiencies and opportunities with Clients.
- Represent the company at conferences and webinars, identify and implement new scientific trends, and evaluate new methodologies which can be beneficial to the company.
Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a GxP regulated environment working with ligand binding assays for drug discovery and development.
- A publication record supporting expertise in Ligand Binding or related area(s)
- A history of working on the bioanalytical projects associated with cell therapy, gene therapy and biologic drug candidates. These may include AAV, CAR-T, and therapeutic monoclonal antibodies and therapeutic proteins.
- Experienced with multiple LBA platforms that may include Gyros, MSD, ELISA, Luminex, Quanterix, Ella, Singulex, flow cytometry, ELISpot, and PCR
- CRO experience is highly desired.
Education
- PhD in cell biology, immunology, pharmacology, toxicology, or a relevant scientific discipline.
