We are looking for a RWE Strategy Lead Developed Brands, Immunology who is collaborative, solutions-oriented, and passionate about leveraging real world data to improve the patient experience to join our HTA and Payer Team. This role can be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Raleigh, North Carolina, or in Atlanta, Georgia. This hybrid role requires a minimum of 40% on-site presence and 5-10% domestic and international travel.
Aboutthe Role
You will lead the development and execution of global real-world evidence (RWE) strategies that support the value, safety, effectiveness, and patient impact of UCB's therapies. You will identify critical evidence needs for existing product lifecycle and translate them into further integrated RWE, epidemiology, outcomes research, and data strategies that inform regulatory, market access, reimbursement, and business decisions, while supporting and expanding our patient access reach.
This strategic leadership role requires a deep understanding of evidence generation, healthcare data, and the evolving external landscape. You will drive the use of innovative study designs, registries, real-world data sources, and emerging technologies to address key evidence gaps and ensure decision-makers have the insights needed to improve outcomes for patients. Success in this role requires scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence complex evidence agendas while balancing diverse stakeholder needs and long-term business priorities.
You'll work with
Internally, you will work with colleagues across Real World Evidence, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Pharmacovigilance, HEOR, Market Access, Safety, Epidemiology, Patient Impact, and Data & Analytics functions to shape evidence strategies, identify evidence gaps, and generate insights that support and defend, reimbursement, and business decisions.
Externally, you will work with academic researchers, healthcare data providers, registry organizations, contract research organizations (CROs), scientific experts, and industry stakeholders to advance evidence-generation initiatives, access relevant data sources, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, decision-grade evidence.
What You'll Do- Develop and co lead integrated real-world evidence (RWE), epidemiology, outcomes research, and data strategies that support UCB's assets across the product lifecycle.
- Identify evidence gaps and define research plans that address regulatory, market access, reimbursement, safety, and patient-centered evidence needs.
- Shape evidence-generation strategies using real-world data, registries, external control arms, innovative study designs, and other fit-for-purpose methodologies.
- Anticipate evolving scientific, regulatory, and business challenges and translate them into actionable evidence solutions and investments.
- Oversee the execution of RWE studies and programs, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and governance standards.
- Drive alignment across complex evidence-generation activities, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders while maximizing impact and efficiency.
- Provide strategic guidance on topics including disease burden, natural history, comparative effectiveness, long-term outcomes, drug utilization, safety commitments, and health technology assessment requirements.
- Leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled approaches, to enhance data strategy, evidence generation, and decision-making.
- Mentor and develop RWE talent while contributing to the continued growth of evidence-generation capabilities across the broader organization.
- Represent UCB externally through engagement with scientific experts, research partners, and industry initiatives to advance the use and impact of real-world evidence.
Minimum Experience/
Skills Required:
- Master's degree, PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), Biostatistics, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
